The mission of Suriya Foundation Resource Center is to provide children with special needs a nurturing environment so they may become contributing members of society. As a result of providing continuing care for more than 40+ children in only one year, Suriya Foundation is developing into a home and school for children with special needs in Sri Lanka, encompassing learning difficulties, developmental delays, and other disabilities.
Our Causes
Skills & Education
Our special needs school in Sri Lanka (children's resource centre) is dedicated to empowering young adults with special needs to live independently and make a positive impact on their communities. We achieve this by providing life skills training and creating opportunities for income generation and employment, giving these individuals the tools they need to succeed in the workforce and beyond.
Empowering Parents
We help families care for their special needs children at home by providing guidance, resources, and connecting them with government services. Our goal is to promote the well-being and happiness of these children, empower their caregivers, and foster a more inclusive society.
Donating Necessities
Many of the children we serve come from families who are struggling to make ends meet, and often cannot afford even basic necessities like food. Our children's foundation provides resources like books, stationary, uniforms, and hygiene products to underprivileged special children in need.
Health & Wellbeing
Our children's foundation is committed to supporting the health and well-being of special needs children in Uva Province, Sri Lanka through regular counselling, pediatrician, and physiotherapy sessions. By providing these essential services, we aim to help children reach their full potential and live happy, healthy lives. Your support can make a real difference in the lives of these children and their families.
Extracurricular activities
Our children's foundation is dedicated to supporting special needs children who face challenges in fitting in at regular schools. We organize day-to-day events, games, and activities involving music, sports, and festivals, such as the New Year Festival, to provide them with a safe and enjoyable environment. By promoting socialization and inclusion, we aim to help these children build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging.
Community Based Rehabilitation
Our children's foundation is committed to providing community-based rehabilitation programs to support special needs children who are unable to attend school. We offer essential resources and support in the home environment, including education and vocational training, to empower these children to reach their full potential.
